Another day, another drawing.
This is a digital sketch of my granddaughter, Selah. She absolutely loves to dress up. One day, not long ago, she came to visit and I had this little straw hat for her to wear. She loved it so much I just had to let her take it home. I snapped a photo of her near the front door as she was leaving. Yes, she is a sweet as she looks!
Here is a detail view.
Thanks for visiting!
This is another installment of my daily drawings.
I admit that my grandchildren are a huge inspiration for me. This is my granddaughter, Lilly (the star of my book, Lilly Vanilly’s Tea Party). She lives a long distance from me so when I visit with her and her brother I take a ton of photos. The last time we saw them we took them to the zoo and to a park. I enjoyed the strong lines of her bravely stepping off the platform and grabbing onto the fireman’s pole. Her face was not as important in this drawing, but it still became the focal point.
Lilly Vanilly’s Tea Party is a picture book for little girls and is available on Amazon or from my store at https://www.createspace.com/3894417. Thanks for visiting!
One of my goals this year is to simply sketch more. I will try to post some of my sketches as I go along. This is one I did today. Nothing detailed, as I usually get pretty crazy with detail. I wanted to keep this one simple so that it would maintain that look of fun, movement, and spontaneity.
Thanks for visiting!
I have been working in Adobe Photoshop and thoroughly enjoying the challenges of drawing and painting in a digital format. My focus has changed a bit over the past two or three years from fine art and watercolor to illustration and digital.
My grandchildren are such an inspiration and make great models. They move too fast to work much from life but I have a lot of photographs of them, as probably most grandparents, to work from. This is a little sketch of my grandson, Eli. He was enjoying some ice cream with Grandma.
Thanks for visiting.
This little mouse was caught red-handed stealing a Christmas ornament!
I created this fellow in Adobe Photoshop. I hope you enjoy him. Have a wonderful holiday season!
I hope you will stop by and visit me this weekend if you are in the area. I will have copies of Lilly Vanilly’s Tea Party, Clifton Chase and the Arrow of Light by Jaimie M. Engle, which I illustrated, as well as many of my How To Paint in Watercolor books.
